Ashe County’s Piecemaker’s Annual Quilt Fair

  • Ashe County’s Piecemaker’s Annual Quilt Fair

If you’ve never checked out the Ashe County Peacemaker’s Quilt Guild's annual Quilt Fair whose theme this year is Seasons of the Mountains, you’re in for a treat. On Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th, you’ll witness the fine workmanship of Ashe County’s renowned local quilters at Ashe County High School.

This year's fair will feature a vendor village, guild boutique, education station, and of course, plenty of BEAUTIFUL QUILTS on view. And back by popular demand there will be a raffle prize drawings including a grand prize of a brand new Janome sewing machine. Refreshments will be available on-site.

About the Ashe County Peacemaker’s Quilt Guild
In 2002, Jean Williamson, Judie Ashbaugh, and Aimee Miller thought it was time that Ashe County had a quilt guild.  Agreeing that this would be a wonderful thing for quilters in our county, they put out the word that an organizing meeting was scheduled.  From that beginning, many quilters gathered and began the hard work of getting the guild up and running.  With much hard work and attention to detail, the charter members all contributed to making the guild what it is today; a place where people can come together to share their love of quilting.

Benefits of membership include a monthly newsletter, membership directory, voting privileges, and participation in guild activities. In addition there are educational programs and workshops, sew days, road trips, secret pals, a quilt fair, challenge quilts, mystery quilts and exchanges, charity quilts, and an opportunity quilt.

The ongoing purpose of the guild is to educate, to preserve the heritage of quilting, to inform and inspire, to perpetuate a high quality of excellence in quilting and related arts, and to be a gathering for people with a common interest.

Come celebrate the High Country’s rich history of quilting at this fun event.
