Cindy and Hank visited Ashe County and loved the area so well, they purchased a second home in the Stonebridge Community. After traveling to the North Carolina Mountains for weekends, they made the decision to move permanently.

This past winter, the cows at the Ashe County Cheese Factory have endured heavy snows, freezing rain and exceptionally strong winds, but they survived the gloomy winter, and are now ready to welcome visitors to West Jefferson.  If you are coming to West Jefferson and want to see the making of cheese while you are here, you may want to visitfor viewing dates.  The store is open Monday - Saturday.  They have a large selection of many varieties of cheese, wine and other goodies.
