Please join the town of Boone on Friday December 7, 2018, for a holiday-themed First Friday that will be a wonderful way to start the season!  There will be dancers and cloggers throughout downtown as well as roaming and stationary carolers and acapella groups. The Grinch will be at the Library, Santa Claus will be at Mast General Store, Mrs. Claus will be helping children write letters to Santa at the Post Office.  The courtyard at Footsloggers will be filled with a variety of yummy treats including s’mores, hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts and food to go.  There will be a snowball fight on Howard Street (with marshmallows) as well as carriage rides.

The seasonal Exhibition Celebrations at Blowing Rock Art and History Museum are some of the biggest gatherings of the year--some of Ashe County’s most stimulating cultural events. The next one will take place on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

One of Ashe County’s natural treasures, the New River was named a National Wild and Scenic River in 1976 and it wildly winds through some of the best North Carolina mountain scenery. New River State Park is base camp for exploration of this river at two principal spots—Wagoner Road Access and US 221 Access.

On December 16th at the Blue Ridge Theatre and Event Center in West Jefferson you are in for a special treat! Christmas with The Celts isn’t just a concert; it is a celebration of the holiday spirit, people, community and common connections.
