If you haven’t had a chance to see it, head over to the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum (BRAHM)) to check out the exhibit: A Town Within A Town, the History of the Junaluska Community. This exhibit is closing on March 11th.

Located in Laurel Springs, about 30 minutes from West Jefferson, New River State Park, is a great place for nature lovers. The park is named after the New River, which was recognized as a National Wild and Scenic River in 1976.

One of Ashe County’s jewels, the charming town of West Jefferson, has been featured in a national magazine called the American Infrastructure Magazine.

Here are two good reasons to get out and about this February in Boone. First, if you’ve never attended aJones House Weekly Jam Sessionon a Thursday night, you may want to check it out! Attendees may bring an instrument to participate in the jams or listen and observe the fiddle tunes and folk songs in a relaxed environment.  Every week musicians from the local community as well as visitors get together in different rooms of the Jones House.  After catching up and choosing a key, the music starts and goes on until the "last call for tunes" around 10:50 pm.
