Come mid-November, Ashe County North Carolina is one of the few places south of the Mason Dixon line where the weather starts to actually feel a little like winter. In the rising elevation of the Blue Ridge Appalachians, Ashe County experiences a unique climate within a southern state. On occasion, there is just enough snow to make you realize the season is a wonderland. Snow dabbles the ground and the roof tops, the fence posts and the landscape.

One of the greatest attractions about Ashe County is its heritage and charm.

Ashe County, NC offers one of the best displays of color south of the Mason Dixon. Combine the colors with October's crisp air, football, all the aromas of the season; it is a beautiful time of the year.

Why move to Ashe County and the Blue Ridge Mountains? Ashe County is home to endless recreations, from golf and hiking to fly fishing and horseback riding, and skiing is always a short jaunt away to nearby Boone and Blowing Rock. Four seasons of Southern grandeur ensure you never run out of good times or dazzling views, and every morning sounds a clarion call to possibility.

Many people love good, cold beer; but I have yet to run into someone so passionate about it that they took the hobby of home brewing into a full-fledged livelihood.Gary Brown, Brew Master, and owner of Boondocks and The Brew Haus, has done just that.  Gary began experimenting with home brewing back in the 80’s and took a certain amount of pleasure in learning the art of craft brewing.
