Spend your Summer Vacation in the Majestic Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina

The Bluff is located in Ashe County, North Carolina in the North Carolina Mountains, and lies in the Appalachian Mountain Range of the Blue Ridge. It is nature’s wonderland and owned by the Nature Conservancy.

There is something to be said about canoeing the river when the autumn leaves begin to turn. What was once a world of green, sprinkled with patches of wildflowers suddenly becomes a world of color. The perfect time to get out the fishing gear and spend the day enjoying nature and the New River.

Under the leadership of Jane Lonon, the Executive Director of Ashe County Arts Council, the Arts Council has enriched the cultural life of the region and has given the opportunity for natives as well as the many tourist who visit the area to become a part of the art community. During the summer months, the second Friday evening of each month, a gallery crawl is sponsored by the Arts Council. It is an evening that people come to West Jefferson to have dinner and enjoy the arts in the town and Ashe County.

There were only a few select trees here and there that slowly began to show color. Just when all indications of a perfect autumn were a certainty, the rains began; it seemed we were doomed to one of those unusual autumns when the leaves would be dull, lifeless and fall with the rains.
