The 10th annual High Country Beer Fest, to take place on Saturday, August 26th, is a celebration of craft beer from around the region and the world. This is a 100% nonprofit event that benefits the Appalachian State University (ASU) Fermentation Sciences, as well as other local nonprofit organizations.

Every month, the Todd Mercantile, “the Friendliest little store in Todd,” hosts its CommUnity Potluck and Dinner and Old Time Dance. The next one will take place on August 18th.

If you are an antique lover, do not miss this event at the Blowing Rock Art Museum! Over 5,000 square feet of gallery space will be transformed into a show-floor filled with furnishings, porcelain, jewelry, silver, art, and more on display from antique dealers along the east coast, from New York City, Atlanta, and everywhere in between.

This challenging ride onto the Blue Ridge Highway serves as a fundraiser for the Ashe Civic Center with over 350 cyclists expected to descend on Ashe County roads. Supported by community sponsorships, fire and rescue and lots of volunteers, the Brutal plays Bike Ride host to cyclists from all over the East Coast and beyond.

The Hickory Jazz Orchestra (HJO) is a full-size 18-piece group that performs swing and big band classics from the era of Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington as well as the sounds of modern big bands.
